STI-Gigaku is an international conference centered on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), organized by students of Nagaoka University of Technology since 2016. The conference brings together universities and companies from Japan and around the world to discuss global challenges such as energy, climate change, and poverty, with the aim of raising awareness and driving action towards the SDGs.
What is STI-Gigaku?
STI-Gigaku (The International Conference on the "Science of Technology Innovation") is a series of SDG-focused international conferences, primarily organized by students of Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) every year since FY 2016.
The participants include NUT, KOSEN (National Institute of Technology/College of Technology) in Japan, as well as domestic and international universities and companies.
This conference is dedicated to bringing together these various parties to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by sharing progress and achievements in education and related research collaboration. Over the years, it has grown into one of our most significant international conferences, playing a key role in facilitating discussions on global issues such as energy, climate change, poverty, and hunger. Additionally, it aims to raise awareness of the SDGs both nationally and internationally, contributing to societal change.
