St. Francis Missionary Baptist Church is located on County Road 79 on St. Francis Church Road, six miles outside of the Greenville city limits.
Few written records of the church exist. The church was founded in the late eighteen hundreds. Planter’s merchandise donated the land to church for a ten dollar trade.
The church serves as a community school and was the first school that had a certified teacher.
The Seventh Shape Singing Convention was established out of St. Francis Missionary Baptist Church in 1919. The convention was founded by the late George Herbert Nelson, who served as pastor at that time.

St. Francis is now a full time church, with service being held every Sunday, Sunday School is held at 9:45 AM, morning worship held at 10:45 AM and 5th Sunday 8:00 AM service followed by fellowship breakfast.
