Due to the extreme heat, it has been decided that we will cancel Pick and Play tomorrow, Monday 22 June.
The fun day, originally scheduled for Sunday 12 July, has been moved to Saturday 1 August to avoid the Festival of Cricket event on the recreation ground on Sunday 12 July.
We are going to have a Whist Night on Saturday 8 August which will start at 6:00 pm, doors open 5.30. Please ensure you arrive in good time and bring along some nibbles if required. You can purchase drinks from the bar, or tea and coffee from the kitchen.
There will be a prize for the winners, two bottles of wine. Also, on the night there will be a raffle. Each raffle ticket £1 or 6 tickets for £5. Prizes to include wine, chocolates, shower items.
See you there!

To raise funds for the Club, we are introducing a monthly raffle for a hamper. This month’s hamper’s theme is the ‘World Cup’ and will be on display at the Club. Included in the hamper is

There is an entry in the fixtures booklet that shows 4 & 5 July as 'Cricket Weekend'. This is an error, those dates relate to 2025. This year the Festival of Cricket event is on Sunday 12 July when the Hainault Recreation ground will be very busy. Members may want to avoid the recreation ground on this day.
There has been a slight change of time for Pick and Play, which will start, Monday 1st June. Members should arrive at the Club for 3:00 to start play at 3:30. This time will continue throughout the Season.
Steve O’Brien has worked hard on Rinks 6 & 7 today (the hottest day of the year!). Please remember we should be bowling across this week. Use one of these Rinks for any roll ups etc. Any feedback on how you find these rinks would be appreciated.
We have some important matches coming up i need all of you to go to the CLUB and enter your names on the team sheets to show you are available for selection otherwise matches will have to be cancelled.
Roll ups, Triples & new players should only be playing on rinks 1, 2, 6 & 7. Rink 4 can be used only if there are too many teams. Rinks 3,4 & 5 are used for Match Games only.
Each week you should be playing in the correct direction. Please refer to the book inside the Club, which shows what rinks you can use and which way you MUST bowl.
This will keep our Green in good condition and make Steve O'Brien very happy as he continues to maintain the green to his usual high standards.
We are looking for volunteers to open our Club on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30 to 2:30. If we get enough volunteers, I estimate that you will only be required to open up one day, every two weeks. Please let me know if you are available.
A gentle reminder please, no mobile phones on the green.
Please remember that you should park in the Club car park and not on the green outside the Club. Only those holding a blue badge or who have temporary mobility issues can park outside the Club.
A reminder to Captains of the day, to collect green fees please.
After consultation with both the Ladies' and Gentlemen's Captains and in line with Bowls England directive, it's been agreed that all this Season's Competitions will be 18 not 21 ends, except the Singles which will stay at first to 21 points. Please ignore the wording on the Competition Entry Forms. Thank you.
