DANCE TEACHERS

Ms. Gutierrez grew up in NISD, attended Northwest Vista Community College, and graduated from Texas State University obtaining her Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree with a major in dance. Ms. Gutierrez danced professionally downtown on the River Walk of San Antonio in a show called Fiesta Noche Del Rio for 6 summers. Her career with NISD, began teaching dance at Luna Middle School. She taught there for 3 years and has now made her way back to her alumni, Stevens High School. Dance has always been a huge part of her life. Ms. Gutierrez is the current Pep Squad Director and Dance teacher.

Ms. Katherine Causey is a Fine Arts dance teacher at John Paul Stevens High School.   After graduating from Stevens High School in 2009, Ms. Causey continued her education at Texas State University. She graduated in 2013 receiving her BFA in Dance with certification in secondary education. While at Texas State, Ms. Causey was a four year member of the Texas State Strutters. Ms. Causey served as the Stevens Soaring Wings Pep Squad Director for 3 years, and is currently in her 10th year directing the  Sky Dancers Dance Team.
