(a) Projects need a place to "live" while they are growing. Free websites and blogs are easy places to set up. These places can be PRIVATE and shared only with parents, teachers and other students (for comments and peer-to-peer instruction and learning).

(c) EVERY STUDENT has a Learning Plan. The teacher's daily lesson plan is "ask students to look at their Learning Plans and do the next step."

(d) It takes about 5 hours one-on-one per student during the first month to get this program working. Some of that time can happen over the phone after school and on weekends.

In order to meet the challenges of the future, the focus is on transversal (generic) competences and work across school subjects. Collaborative classroom practices, where pupils may work with several teachers simultaneously during periods of phenomenon-based project studies are emphasised.
