Valentina Migliarini
Dr. Valentina Migliarini is an Assistant Professor in Education Studies in the School of Education in the Department of Education and Social Justice, University of Birmingham, UK.
Her work, both in research and teaching, focuses on increasing access to equitable education for students from multiply marginalised communities, specifically disabled students from migrant and forced migrant backgrounds, in secondary education. She is at the forefront of researchers using the Disability Critical Race Theory in Education (DisCrit) framework as an intersectional lens to examine inclusive policies and practices in education systems in Europe and in the United States. Through her research agenda, she addresses mainstream conceptualisations of inclusion, highlighting how these reproduce micro-exclusions for students living at the intersections of multiple forms of oppression.
Erik De Bou

He worked in various types of teams from a research team, teachers’ teams to a pedagogical advisor’s team, as coordinator and mediator between education and the agricultural sectors. He is also working on the borders between young people, teachers, school directors and employers. He has experience at working in a European dimension such as being organizer of more than 15 Erasmus+ projects and partnerships (Malta, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Estonia, Germany, Czech Republic) for inspectors, for teachers and for students.
Vesela Politova
Vesela Politova has over 10 years of professional experience in local and national administration in the field of education, most of it is as an expert and head of the "Education" department in the Capital Municipality - "Izgrev" district. Now she is a state inspector at the National Inspectorate of Education. Her research and professional interests are in preschool and school education, education quality, public administration, regulation and impact assessment. She is in the final stage of earning Ph degree at SOFIA university “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The topic of her dissertation is "Quality of regulations and the importance of impact assessment in the field of education".
Kaloyan Damyanov
Kaloyan Damyanov serves as both the Director of the Regional Center for Inclusive Education in Sofia and the National Coordinator for Bulgaria at the European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education. In his capacity as a leading national educational expert, he has contributed numerous publications to the fields of inclusive and intercultural education, teacher training, and social work. Dr. Damyanov earned his doctoral degree with a dissertation focusing on "Building and Managing an Inclusive Educational Environment for Children and Students with Special Educational Needs." Furthermore, he holds the position of Chief Assistant Professor at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski," where he instructs a course on inclusive education and the cooperation between educational institutions and extracurricular entities.
Nikolay Tsankov
Assoc. Prof. Nikolay Tsankov, D.Sc., is a lecturer at the Faculty of Education at Trakia University. His scientific interests and research results are reflected in over 180 publications in the field of educational sciences, cited more than 800 times in the scientific works of other authors. His teaching interests are related to educational theories, school didactics, theories of upbringing, educational technologies, information and communication technologies in education and working in a digital environment, didactic modeling, competence-based approach in education, competence for modeling, motivation in the educational process, andragogy, preventive pedagogy, and social-pedagogical work with individuals exhibiting dependent and aggressive behavior.
Research topics: educational theories and technologies, competence-based approach in education, competence profiles, information and communication technologies in education and working in a digital environment, digital competence, design of educational research, research competence, andragogy, cognitive modeling, multisensory and multimodal learning technologies, and design of educational environment.
He is involved in numerous research and educational projects in various areas such as: teachers preparation and qualification; development of digital competence; social inclusion and inclusive education; improving the effectiveness of early language learning for children whose mother tongue is not Bulgarian through the introduction of games; resources and innovations in education, and others.
He is a member of numerous expert groups in the field of education, a member of editorial boards, and an external inspector at the National Inspectorate of Education.
Ivan Ivanov
Ivan Ivanov is Director of the "Administrative Service" Directorate, National Inspectorate of Education (NIE). He organizes, implements and directs the activities to ensure the necessary human resources and clerical, information services, financial-accounting and economic services of the Inspectorate. Leads, coordinates and controls the overall work of the directorate.
