Effective date: August 23, 2026
This app is developed and maintained by Brittany Rima ("I", "me"). This policy explains what data Steps collects, how it's used, and — most importantly — what never leaves your device.
The short version
Steps reads your step and activity data from Apple Health, stores it only on your device, and never uploads it anywhere. The only network connection the app makes is to RevenueCat, to validate your purchase or free trial — and that connection never includes any health or activity data.
Health data
Steps requests permission to read step count, distance, flights climbed, and related activity metrics from Apple Health (HealthKit), so it can show you your history, trends, streaks, and records.
- This data is processed and stored **only on your device**, in Apple's SwiftData/Core Data storage sandboxed to the app.
- It is never uploaded to me, to RevenueCat, or to any other server or third party.
- It is never used for advertising, sold, or shared.
- You can revoke Health access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Steps. If you do, the app can no longer show new activity data.
- Deleting the app deletes its local data. There is no account and no cloud backup of your health data, so there's nothing on a server for me to delete.
Purchases and subscriptions
Steps offers a free 7-day trial, after which continued use requires a subscription or one-time purchase (monthly, yearly, or lifetime). Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and validated using **RevenueCat**, a subscription management service.
- RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-generated user ID and your purchase/transaction receipt — nothing else.
- I do not require or collect your name, email, or Apple ID to use the app.
- RevenueCat's own privacy policy governs how it processes this data: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
- Health and activity data is never sent to RevenueCat, or attached to your RevenueCat customer record, under any circumstance.
What I don't collect
- No account or sign-in — there is nothing to create and no personal profile.
- No location data.
- No advertising identifiers, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- No cookies (the app has no web content).
Diagnostic data
Apple's standard crash and performance diagnostics (if you've opted into sharing analytics with app developers in iOS Settings) may reach me through Apple's own developer tools. This is controlled entirely by your iOS-level privacy settings, not by anything in the app, and never includes your health data.
Children's privacy
Steps is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a new feature adds a new data flow — I'll update this page and change the effective date above.
