Steps to a Trial

There are many steps in the complex process of a trial.

To begin, each defendant is supposed to be judged by a "jury of their peers."

People who are called as potential jurors are selected randomly. Before a criminal trial can begin, the jurors who actually serve are carefully chosen. But how?

Civil trials don't involve actual crimes. They are a means for citizens to settle arguments with each other by asking the court system for help.
