About Amanda
About Amanda
I grew up in South East Calgary, AB. I found my love for music at 10 years old with my first guitar. I was introduced to band and French horn in grade 9, and went on to join the Stetson Showband playing mellophone, horn and eventually became drum major.
Later, I studied Music at University of Calgary, focusing on French horn, music pedagogy and piano. I played French horn in the U of C Wind Orchestra as well as the U of C Symphony Orchestra, and graduated with my Bachelor of Music in 2018.
I have 10 years of experience teaching all ages and have worked as a piano teacher in several music studios in the city, along with teaching horn at camps in Southern Alberta. I pride myself on taking the best experiences of my vast and varied music education and sharing them with students.
I currently live in Legacy, Calgary with my husband and two chihuahuas. I love taking them for walks in Pine Creek and around the ponds. I love to see the diversity of birds in the area. I regularly play music for fun and fulfillment.
