What did you draw ?
Here is the final draft of Snoopy the dog from the Peanuts comics/films/and television shows.
For snoopy's ice cream [I assume], I used the color pink.
There is also positive and little negative space inside snoopy's ear and same goes for his nose.
Describe your haunted hallway.
My hallway has a broken floor to where there is a dark hole that leads to who knows where. Then with different things on the floor such as a bloody knife with blood on the floor, a broken violin & light bulb, an eye staring at the shadow on the floor. On the right side we have 2 windows and a doorway. One of them has a girl staring with only one of her eyes outside & next to that big window we have just a regular window showing the sky. The doorway seems to look like there is a person there with a kind of black cat. At the far end we have a kind of shadowy figure at the left side, and on the right side we have some kind of head on the ground. Then between the two we have something just staring straight at us too.. who knows what that something is. Now on the left side we have a family portrait, a mirror, and a table. The family portrait seems to be ruined by a splatter of something.. wonder how it got ruined & why. The mirror seems to have some kind of person showing, it kinda looks like the person from big window on the right but more bigger and scarier. Behind her there is a different kind of weird looking spider of some sort. On the table we have a computer with the words phrased "Welcome to White Space", then there is also a tissue box next to it to wipe your sorrows away. Now the biggest thing in this hallway is just something above the hall, looks kinda scary with its arms going around the walls.
2. What was your inspiration ?
My inspiration for my art was from a game called "Omori". It is physiological horror, the game has held a special place in my heart. Plus, I'm also just still very into it so I decided "what if I use omori as my inspiration?", and so I did !
3. What do you feel is successful in your drawing ?
I feel like what is successful in my artwork is either everything inside the big window on the right, especially the girl staring, or the family portrait with the blood splattered. I had so much fun doing the red splatter, it's another one of my favorite parts.
4. Describe your work using 2 Elements/Principles of Art & Design
How I both used 2 Elements of Art & Design is I used geometric shapes on the windows and the picture frame. I also used repetition on the wooden floors, they repeat with every next line. I even used contrast, it is shown in the back wall door and uses the colors black & white.
My Vision on the Design.
I didn't exactly know what I should add to the shirt. Yes, something that represents TADA, but I also didn't want to be very basic about just designing paint buckets, paint brushes, arts & crafts stuff etc. Until I found that cute little guy there on the front so I thought... "what if I make it look like it's saying TADA!!" [yes pun intended]. So then if I wanted the little guy to be saying tada, then we have to add like some kind of confetti strings I thought. Then for the back, I just thought of adding TADA just vertically and the meaning of TADA going across.
Why did you decide on this design?
I decided on this design because when I brained stormed some ideas I had just the words TADA in yarn, spilled paint spelling TADA, in which I thought was really plain, boring, and just very simple. Then once I came up with the idea with the little guy just saying TADA I said I would just go with it and because I liked how it works out because of the "TADA!!" pun I did there.
What was your Inspiration?
I just went on google and had looked up "TADA", so then the little guy popped up as a GIF and I thought it was cute and would work saying "TADA!!".
Describe your work using 2 Elements/Principles of Art & Design
For my TADA T-Shirt, I used some organic shapes for the confetti coming out of the little guy in the middle of the shirt with some yellow and burgundy color for the confetti. I even used contrast on the shirt with the whole shirt only being black and text with the little guy being white. There is even some pattern going on with the confetti, it just repeats around the guy like an order.
Seungmin from Stray Kids
What is a portrait?
A portrait are artistic representations of people, they could be expressed in many different types of art forms such as: paintings, sculptures, photographs, and just any other media. They can show the person's head to shoulders or as well a full body figure portrait.
Who did you choose for your drawing and why?
I chose a member from a popular Kpop group called Stray Kids which consists of 8 members. He is the second youngest in the group and his main role is the main vocalist. He's my favorite member amongst the other 7, of course I love the rest but Seungmin was able to catch my eye and heart with his personality, amazing vocals and his other unique features. I've been really into the group recently so I had to decide which out of the 8 to do [I was hesitant] so why not do my favorite member!
2 Elements of Art & 2 Principles of Design
I used space and value around Seungmin's face, he has a shadow around his nose and not only that but around the left side of his neck as well. The values are shown for the space in his face and neck that gradually changes from a white to a light gray. I also used contrast for as well around Seungmin's face as for the same nose shadow and balance in his face and neck as well.
This work on the left was my ink blowing artwork for the Maxine Waters art Contest! I had another option of work I made but my final project was this one. How I'd describe it is it looks like some mystical fox of a sort. It's curled up and laid with the rest. It has a red pinkish nose and the same goes for it's tail as well. Originally I wanted this to be more blue as I can but that's how much I ended up going. The background has some pastel colors of red, yellow, turquoise, and pink, By the top of the picture, how I pictured it is that it's fading away as if it was hurt because if you look by the face, you can she the creature shedded a black tear. Hurt from others and slowing fading away while that black tear is it's last of the remaining of her life.
How does the image you choose show pop culture?
The image I chose represents pop culture since it is a character from the Sanrio series [Hello Kitty] whose dog is named Pochacco! I chose Pochacco as in it represents the guy I did for my Grid Project Seungmin!
What are the color schemes you used for all 4 of your images?
I used primary colors such as: red, blue, and yellow. Complementary colors: Blue, Yellow, Orange, and Purple! Analogus colors: The different shades of a tea kind of green. Then lastly Monochromatic colors: Light purple, little bit of middle to almost dark purple, then lastly dark purple.
Out of the 4 color schemes, which do you think came out best? Why?
I personally love the color green and not saying this being biased but the analogus colors of green went really really well! As much as I love purple as well, I would say green since the way I put them in order from shades.
Which color scheme is your least favorite and why?
I would say the complementary I am not a big fan of since the orange and yellow since they seem to be out of place and not right in a way.
What Pokemon card did you paint?
Even though I did not get to finish painting my Pokemon card, the Pokemon is named Teddiursa!
Describe the landscape for your Pokemon card
The landscape for my Pokemon card is Teddiursa is on a house, what I was going for on the roof was to include its footprints! I took very long on the roof since I was getting very picky with it being about the same color as the original image. There are stars shining brightly in the sky and a forest in the background with leaves flowing through the air.
2 Elements of Art & 2 Principles of Design
I used lines and shapes for my house. As for the roof I used squares in the little spaces in-between and below those squares are lines for the house which I got the reference from the houses behind Teddiursa. There are patterns with the lines for the house and as well contrast since the lines on the roof are a darker shade of blue.
