Robert aspired to be like his father as a boy.

Stephen married Jane in 1967, and I was born two years later. Then there was Stephen and Jane's firstborn, Robert. Robert George Hawking reportedly aspired to be a scientist like his father. Without a doubt, Stephen was an inspiration to his son; however, the difficulties his father faced when developing many ideas caused Robert to change his mind.

Robert changed his mind and went on to graduate from the University of Oxford with a degree in software engineering.

Timothy used to prank his father
