I am an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and Amsterdam (UvA). At UNIL I am a member of the Life Course and Inequality Centre (LIVES) and collaborate closely with the Swiss Centre of Expertise in the Social Sciences (FORS) in the framework of a Reseach Programm between the Faculty if Social Sciences and FOR (DReMMS).

My research examines the causes and consequences of educational and labor market vulnerabilities from a cross-national perspective. While initially focused on gender, I have increasingly adopted an intersectional lens, incorporating migrant background, sexual minority status, and social class. I also specialize in survey methodology, with particular expertise in online data collection, ex-post harmonisation, and multi-group index construction.

I have collaborated on several EU-funded projects and served as a gender expert for the European Institute for Gender Equality and Eurofound. I am currently the Secretary General of the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), which collects comparative data in 45 countries. Additionally, I am the PI of the Swiss  Generation and Gender Programme set for its first wave in 2026.
