I have always been in love with teaching and knew from a young age that I wanted to work with little kids! I taught special education & preschool for 6 years before my husband & I decided it was best for me to stay home with our kiddos!
While being home with them, I was constantly putting together activities to keep them engaged and learning throughout the day. I then started taking those same activities and put a theme to them and then shared them with a community of other moms. That's when Smart Start was born.
I started my teaching career in an inclusive special education preschool classroom where I worked 1:1 ABA therapy with a student. After that, I recieved an opportunity to become a case manager in a public school for K-3. There I worked with students 1:1, in small groups, in classrooms, and also co-taught my last year in a kindergarten classroom.
In 2017 my family moved and I was lucky enough to find an amazing private preschool where I spent the last two years teaching a Kindergarten Readiness program, enrichment programs for 2-5 year olds, and being a lead teacher of the two-year-old class.
I am currently a stay at home mom of three kiddos. I absolutely love the opportunity that I have been given to be able to be there for my kids but also pursue my dream of empowering other parents to assist their childrens learning and development through play from home!
