My name is Stephanie Carbajal Gobar. I am currently a junior at University of Houston Victoria. I started my basics at Victoria College, then transferred to UHV. I graduated from St. Joseph High School in Victoria where I was born and raised.
I have worked with children off and on since I was eighteen years old. I've worked at daycares and worked as a paraprofessional in special education at Victoria Independent School District for five years. I am now forty years old and I have been a stay-at-home mom for a few years now. I decided to go back to school a year ago after taking a twelve year break.
My heart has always been with children. I realized this when my sister, who is ten years older than me began to have children. I loved being with them and realized how I was naturally good with them. It was then that I realized how much I love children and how much I love teaching them. I later realized that I have a love for children with special needs. Working along side two wonderful special education teachers for five years made me realize that is what I want to do.
My goal is to work as a special education teacher while continuing to get my masters degree in Speech Pathology.
