Emotional Intelligence In the Workplace

Problem:  Marketing Smart is committed to fostering effective teamwork on each project. Recently, management has identified that communication challenges and unresolved issues among team members have impacted project efficiency. Management believes that enhancing employees' emotional intelligence (EQ) can significantly improve team satisfaction, reduce conflict-related delays, and elevate overall performance.

Solution:  By equipping employees with strategies to enhance EQ, such as conflict resolution and stress management, Marketing Smart aims to decrease time lost to conflict by 20% within six months and boost project completion rates by 15%.

Tool:  Articulate Storyline 360

Highlights:

  • Scenario-based interaction

  • Tabs interaction for learners to engage with content

  • Immediate, specific feedback using a knowledge check

  • Click-to reveal interactions

  • Final Quiz with an 80 percent passing rate

Deliverables:

Design Document, Storyboard, Job Aid

Process: Before starting the e-Learning development process, I conducted a thorough analysis of the target audience, the content, and the business challenge at hand. After identifying the issue and determining the most effective solution, I proceeded with designing the course, which is detailed in the Design Document. The development phase began with the creation of a Storyboard, which served as a roadmap for the e-Learning module. To assess learner outcomes, I incorporated Kirkpatrick’s Level 2 evaluation, which includes an interactive knowledge check and a final assessment featuring scenario-based questions. For Level 3 evaluation, as outlined in the Design Document, I implemented a client survey and a management review of emails, both conducted two months after the training. Additionally, I developed a microlearning resource in the form of a job aid—this quick reference guide consolidates key information from the course for easy access and reinforcement.

Improving Productivity in the Office

Problem:  Employees are not fulfilling their daily tasks in the allotted time frames. Issues such as multitasking, distractions, and ineffective breaks are hindering productivity.

Solution: After completing the training employees will be able to better manage their tasks and utilize their time with fewer distractions on a daily basis.

Tool:  Articulate 360

Highlights:

  • Tabs interaction for learners to engage with content

  • Drag and drop interaction

  • Immediate, specific feedback using knowledge checks

  • Scenario based quiz

Deliverables:  Design Document, Job Aid

Process:  When developing this course, I followed a systematic approach to adult learning. I started by assessing the target audience, content, business challenges, and potential solutions. Then, I created a Design Document to outline the key elements of the module. After the design phase, I used Articulate Rise to build the course. For evaluation, I incorporated both Kirkpatrick’s Level 2 and Level 3 assessments. Level 2 includes knowledge checks at the end of each section, along with a final graded assessment.
