2.0 What data is used and visualized
StepStar analyzes your device's pedometer data to create graphs and charts and calculate your step goal. Under no circumstances will your personal data be shared with third parties. If you allow StepStar to access Apple Health, the app will have access to the health data that you have granted it access to (as described in section 2.1). The data read from Apple Health is used exclusively to visualize your data within the app. It is not collected or shared outside of your local installation of the app. None of the step or health data is stored by the app. Only the calculated step goal is stored within the StepStar app container.
2.1 Apple HealthKit
HealthKit is a service provided by Apple Inc. for processing activity data, which enables access to or storage of activity data. For more information, please refer to Apple's privacy policy:

Access is only granted with your explicit consent. You decide which data you want to share in the system dialog, and you can revoke permission at any time in the iOS settings under Privacy & Security > Health.
3.0 Over-the-Air (OTA)-Updates via EAS Update (Expo)
Our app uses Expo's OTA update system, EAS Update, to quickly deliver bug fixes and improvements.
When launched or at specific times, the app may send a secure HTTPS request to Expo to check if a new version is available. According to Expo, this request does not contain any identifying device or user data, such as a unique device identifier. Only the operating system, the developer's project ID, and a randomly generated token are transmitted.
This data collection is the responsibility of Expo and is not our direct responsibility. We do not collect or process any personal data in connection with this feature.
3.1 Purpose of use
This function is used for technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and improving the app's functionality and security. For more information on data processing by Expo, please refer to Expo's privacy policy at: https://expo.dev/privacy
4.0 Email & Support
The only situation in which StepStar may gain access to your personal data is if you send us personal feedback or an error report by email. The personal data we may receive from you in this situation is limited to your name, email address, and the content of your response. In the above situation, StepStar guarantees that your data will only be used to contact you. StepStar will never use such information (e.g., your name or email address) for other purposes.
