Our driving question is: How can we lower insurance prices for those who deserve it while simultaneously making it more desirable to drive safer for those who speed?
MIT App Inventor is a web-based online platform invented by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and originally provided by Google for designing and teaching computational thinking concepts through the creation of mobile applications. These mobile codes are developed using a web-based editor and allow beginners to build application software (apps) for two different operating systems: Android and iOS.
My name is Mansour Elziyadi. I have always struggled with high insurance costs on my vehicle. All companies automatically assumed that because of this one crash I had when I was 16, that I would always be a dangerous driver. I decided to prove them wrong. I created an app that tracks my driving habits and reports them back to my insurance company. How it works is when I open my app, I am greeted with the welcome screen. Then, I press Start Tracking, which sends me to the page shown above. I then click Start Timer and Start Tracking. This then starts tracking my speed, and my sudden turns and stops. I think this will be revolutionary for all people who live in countries that have insurance, as this will be a real money saver for everyone who drives safely, and will actually promote those who drive recklessly to not do so as your driving will be reported back, which will make your subscription more expensive.
