Procedure:
MIT App Inventor is a straightforward, visual programming environment that lets us develop completely operational apps for tablets and smartphones. It is blocks-based coding and testing your program on your device is very easy with help of AI Companion and QR code. MIT App Inventor for Android is a powerful and experimental program that helps users to develop beneficial applications. We used MIT App Inventor to improve our imagination and enhance applications. I would like to share with you procedures to follow to develop my password generator application:
1) We must launch MIT App Inventor in order to build block codes and design my application.
2) We used MIT AI2 Companion to monitor the project's progress step by step and to test it.
3) We use Hunred Visions Guy on Youtube to help us design and make part of the code.
4) In MIT App Inventor, there are Designer and Blocks components that we used to design our application.
5) We added a label that welcomes the user and briefly explains the concept of the app.
6) We added 2 buttons that will allow the user to enter any workout and store data.
7) On the 2nd screen we added List Pickers and Labels that allow the user to put their information.
8) On the other screen we added 6 buttons and 6 labels to suggest different workouts for the user (Running,Walking, Hiking, Cycling, Treadmill, Weight Lifting)
As a result I developed my Fitness Tracking Application.
To be able to open my program link with design and blocks editor, you should click on the following link :
and after that, you should click on >> Load App Into MIT App Inventor.
This will redirect you to the AI2 MIT App inventor page.
Lastly, you should click on the continue button to be able to see my program code, and design.
If you would like to implement my program: Fitness Tracking App
A) you should install MIT AI2 Companion on your smartphone.
B) You should open my project from the next link:
C) You will see ConnectTab at the top menu, click on it and select AI Companion,
D) Open AI2 Companion from your smartphone( or tablet) simultaneously.
E) Click on the scan QR code on your smartphone, in several seconds my app will appear on your screen!
Ready to use!

Essential Understanding
Fitness tracking apps are designed to help people monitor and improve their physical activity and overall health. These apps typically use sensors in a smartphone or wearable device to track various metrics such as steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, and active minutes. Many fitness tracking apps also allow users to set goals, track their progress, and compete with friends or other users. In addition, some apps may offer personalized coaching or workout recommendations based on the user's activity level and other factors. The main idea behind a fitness tracking app is to provide users with the tools and motivation they need to live a more active and healthy lifestyle.
Real Life Connection
A fitness tracking application has a direct connection to a user's real life in several ways. Firstly, it helps the user monitor their physical activity and exercise routines, allowing them to track their progress and set new goals for themselves. By tracking their daily steps, calories burned, and other fitness metrics, the user can gain insight into their overall physical health and well-being.
Another real life connection of a fitness tracking application is that it can help the user maintain a healthy diet. Many fitness tracking apps allow users to log their food intake, providing them with information about the nutritional value of the foods they are consuming. This information can be used to make healthier food choices and to monitor caloric intake, which can help with weight management and overall health.
Finally, a fitness tracking app can also be a motivator for users, helping to keep them engaged and committed to their fitness goals. By setting goals and tracking progress, users can feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, which can help maintain motivation and encourage continued participation in physical activity.
Overall, a fitness tracking application can play an important role in a user's real life by providing valuable information and support for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Safety
There are several safety issues related to fitness tracking applications that users should be aware of:
Privacy Concerns: Fitness tracking apps often collect and store personal information, such as location data, workout routines, and health information. This information can be vulnerable to hacking and other security breaches, which can lead to the exposure of sensitive information.
Accuracy of Data: The accuracy of data collected by fitness tracking apps can be an issue, as it can lead to incorrect information being shared with healthcare providers and other users. This can lead to incorrect diagnoses or treatment plans, as well as frustration and confusion for the user.
Addiction: Some users may become overly focused on their fitness goals and the data collected by the app, leading to an unhealthy obsession with fitness and health. This can lead to an unhealthy and unbalanced lifestyle, as well as physical and mental stress.
Dependence on Technology: Relying on technology to track fitness progress can lead to a decrease in self-awareness and critical thinking skills, as users may come to rely on the app for all their fitness needs.
Location Tracking: The location tracking feature of some fitness tracking apps can be a safety concern, as it can reveal sensitive information about the user's movements and routines.
Investigation Questions
1- How can we mitigate the safety concerns regarding using Fitness Tracking App?
To mitigate these safety issues, it is important for users to carefully review the privacy policies of fitness tracking apps, and to consider the type and amount of information they are sharing. Users should also be aware of the limitations of fitness tracking apps and understand that not all data is accurate or reliable. It is also important to seek out trusted sources of information and professional advice when needed, and to prioritize overall well-being and balance in their fitness and health routines.
2- What other ways can be used to create fitness tracking mobile app?
Native app development: This involves using programming languages such as Swift for iOS and Java for Android to create a standalone app that is installed directly on the user's device.
3- How can this app be used with wearable technology?
Wearable technology integration: Integrating fitness tracking features into wearable devices such as smartwatches and fitness trackers can also be another way to create a fitness tracking app. This approach requires working with the APIs of the wearable device and integrating them into the app.
4- What are the key features that users look for in a fitness tracking app and how can they be integrated into the app to enhance user engagement and adoption?
We could conduct user research through surveys, focus groups, or interviews with potential users of the app. The findings from this research could then be used to inform the design and development of the app, ensuring that it meets the needs and expectations of its target audience.

Annie: Hi, my name is Annie and my partner's name is Angela, we are students at Harmony School of Discovery and we created a fitness tracking app.
Angela: Do you have a hard time keeping track of your fitness? Well we got the solution for you!
Annie:Download our app “Get Fit” and you’ll be able to keep track of your fitness fast and easy!
Angela: Our app has 2 options, you can track your fitness or get exercise recommendations depending on your preferences.
Angela: We have conducted some research about fitness tracking apps and fitness in general for our social studies component. There have been a number of legal cases involving fitness, including disputes over the safety of fitness products, claims of false advertising by fitness companies, and injuries sustained while participating in fitness activities. Here are a few examples: In 2017, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of certain fitness balls due to the risk of bursting and causing injury. In 2019, a federal court ordered the company Beachbody to pay $3.6 million in fines for making false and unsubstantiated weight loss and health claims in its advertising. In 2020, a woman in California filed a lawsuit against the fitness company SoulCycle, alleging that she fell and suffered injuries while participating in a spin class due to the instructor's inadequate training and supervision. These are just a few examples, and there have been many other legal cases involving fitness. If you have specific questions about a particular legal case, I would be happy to try to help. There have been a number of legal cases involving fitness mobile applications, including disputes over the safety and effectiveness of the apps, privacy concerns, and issues related to user data. Here are a few examples: In 2018, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced a settlement with the developer of the "MyFitnessPal" app, which alleged that the company had made false and misleading claims about the app's ability to help users lose weight and maintain weight loss. In 2019, a class action lawsuit was filed against the developer of the "Sweat: Kayla Itsines Fitness" app, alleging that the company engaged in deceptive marketing practices by making false claims about the effectiveness of the app and the qualifications of the trainers.
In 2020, the FTC announced a settlement with the developer of the "7 Minute Workout" app, which alleged that the company had collected and shared users' data without their knowledge or consent. These are just a few examples, and there have been many other legal cases involving fitness mobile apps. If you have specific questions about a particular legal case, I would be happy to try to help.
