WE CHOSE A NARRATIVE ESSAY AS THE FORMAT TO ILLUSTRATE OUR PROJECT. A NARRATIVE ESSAY BEST ILLUSTRATES OUR PROJECT BECAUSE IT SHOW TO HOW WE ACCOMPLISHED OUR PBL EFFECTIVELY.
ATWOOD'S MACHINE
The PBL project we were assigned was the Atwood's Machine. The purpose of this project was to find out, how mass plays a factor in acceleration in Atwood's Machine as well as how it used to prove Newton's Second Law of Motion. Thus, we started to research and learn more about our project, while learning interesting facts about how the past of the machine has made up current machines that make up part of our daily lives and how certain equations are used to calculate different processes of Atwood's machine.
To complete PBL tasks one through three, we created emails and a website in order to display our project and what it needs to be completed. Then, the two of us split up the tasks to gather more information about the background on our project, which helped us discover very interesting information about our PBL project. The next tasks due are four and five, which required us to start the experiment and set up all materials.
We used our class and tutorial time to start on the experiment. However, we had a bit of struggle at the start of our experiment. But late on, we understood how this project functions. Then, we continued to work on the hand out packet, which helped us to work on tasks six through eight. Six through eight required us to connect our topic to real world examples, provide graphs, and provide a social studies and english component. Some parts we worked together to finish a task, on other, we split them. However we made sure to read, revise, correct, and and help each other during the process. We stayed after school multiple times to make sure the PBL was well done and had the required information to complete it.
Overall, the project conducted went amazingly well, we were able to learn interest things about our the topic. In the end, all task were completed and the driving question was solved. In addition, we understood how mass plays a factor in acceleration in Atwood's Machine. From this PBL we have also learned how we find an Atwood machine not just in your traditional physics lab setting but also set out in the real world. As people, we don't see the components of devices we use on a daily basis such as elevators. With this PBL, we can look past just an elevator or garage door but can look at it through its inside machinery. Atwood's machine PBL opened our eyes.
