The STEM Princess is dedicated to cultivating passion and excitement for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) in young children. We provide events and learning experiences full of creativity, curiosity, and a little sparkle. We collaborate with role models in STEM fields and character companies to create an environment where princesses (and princes) can be scientists and engineers too. All of our research-based events and activities are affordable and designed to bring STEM into your homes. Our goal is to make STEM approachable, interesting, and exciting for children and adults.
The STEM Princess is the brain-child of Ashley Delaney, a Ph.D. student at Iowa State University focused on STEM Education and integrating families into education. She is a mother of three little girls who love dressing up, hunting for bugs, make believe, exploring outside, and toying with technology amongst other STEM and princess-y things. The STEM Princess was created after Ashley's four-year-old daughter refused to go to a science camp despite her love of science and exploration at home proclaiming, "I want to be a princess. Science is for boys!" Even with a female-empowered home environment, Ashley's daughter thought she could not be a scientist AND a princess too. Creating a positive and inclusive STEM environment for her daughters and other children was the catalyst for the vision and mission of The STEM Princess. Today, our activities and events focus on bringing STEM to girls using the theme of princesses making science, technology, engineering, and mathematics familiar and approachable. We hope adults find our activities easy to use and continue bringing STEM into the lives of their children.
We are proud to be family-owned and operated. Thank you for joining us on this journey. We are happy to have you!
