I’m sure that it comes as no surprise to you that educators, as well as those who support educators, spend a considerable amount of their own time and money to educate students and help meet their needs. We're constantly learning new skills and practices to help better educate our students and during this time of remote instruction, we're also being asked to teach in ways we never trained for or anticipated.
While it's unlikely that educators are going to be paid in a way that accurately reflects their value, through this site we hope to at least provide an opportunity to recognize and document the work being invested into your craft through microcredentials. If you've not heard of microcredentials, you can think of them as miniature diplomas showing your skill and ability to perform certain tasks and/or utilize certain tools. The video on the left gives a good explanation, and you'll only need to watch until about 2:40.
Here you can browse through the growing collection of badges, submit the evidence, and be awarded a microcredential (a digital badge) for that skill set. Plus, you also have the opportunity to earn prizes in our biweekly raffles where every microcredential you earn equals a raffle entry!
We have come to the end of this season's raffles. Please stay tuned next school year to see about how this project evolves.
