Let us reflect on the Juneteenth holiday. A time when African-American freedom was halted by a two year delay. In 1863 all slaves we emancipated, but this message was not fully communicated. Freedom rang in 1865 when General Gordon Granger had arrived. On June 19th the last slaves were freed. They danced and celebrated with jubilee.
