Launch Area 0 at Wallops Island, Virginia
Launch Area 0 at Wallops Island, Virginia, is a key launch complex at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility, supporting both commercial and government space missions. The site features multiple launch pads, each serving different rockets:
Pad 0A – Primarily used for Northrop Grumman’s Antares rocket, which launches cargo resupply missions to the International Space Station.
Pad 0B – Supports Northrop Grumman’s Minotaur rockets, used for national security and science missions.
Launch Complex 2 (LC-2) – Built for Rocket Lab’s Electron rocket, which delivers small satellites into orbit.
New Pad Under Construction – Rocket Lab is developing an additional launch pad for its upcoming Neutron rocket, designed for larger payloads and potential human spaceflight.
As one of the few U.S. launch sites on the East Coast, Launch Area 0 plays a crucial role in expanding access to space for both commercial and government missions. 🚀
