I'm looking to get rocksmith remastered for pc soon and when I went to amazon to find a real tone cable and see ubisoft is selling both versions at different prices. I would like to know if there's anything is actually different about them cause if not I'll just get the 2014 version new for cheaper. Here's a photo of what I meant by two different versions from the same seller.

As a new Rocksmith user who lives somewhere that the Real Tone Cable or similar devices are really expensive or aren't avaliable at all, I couldn't get one, and wanted to use my Guitar 1/4'' cable. If you're one of those, just like me, that can't find any solution on the internet, this guide is for you!

I would like to add that this is a workaround if you can't really get the cable. If you can, go ahead and get one. I heard that it goes far better with quality than using the normal cable, yet, a sad thing, is that the Real Tone Cable is really fragile and can be easily broke as many users have told me.

I tried the WASAPI and couldn't get it to work (which may be an issue with my lack of computer tech knowledge). The MIDI Guitar 2 company suggested: "install loopMidi and feed MIDI from MG2 into Cakewalk with a virtual midi cable," but I looked into it and couldn't figure out what the heck it was about or how to implement it in my DAW (even with the vague instruction).

To use MG2 outside of the DAW requires installing LoopMIDI or LoopBe1. I prefer LoopBe1 because of the buffering used by LoopMIDI. Regadless, any virtual MIDI cable should work. The setup is as follows:

I just tested the rocksmith cable in WASAPI shared and Wasapi exclusive mode and it works fine here. I output through a different headset device. In fact in WASAPI exclusive I could go down to about 5 msec buffer sizes and it worked ok.

It also works with my focusrite as an output but the focusrite has poor WASAPI latency.

What problem are you running into - do you get any error messages?

Thanks for posting this. I am looking into using this now that I am dusting off my old Rocksmith license on Steam after a 4 year break. I have since acquired an Axe Fx III and I am trying to figure out how to use this unit with my PC without having to use the official Rocksmith USB cable (I already have the cable but want to give it to my brother if I don't need it anymore).

So I downloaded the no cable patch. Ran it, used it to launch the game still got the error about exclusivity. Disabled all other recording inputs. that fixed that but the game still says the cable isn't plugged in and I can't tune my guitar or anything in the game. what am I missing? 589ccfa754
