Welcome to my homepage!
From January 2026 I am a tenure track assistant professor at CUNEF in Madrid. My main interests are at the interface of differential and commutative algebra, number theory and tropical geometry: laying the foundations of differential tropical algebra and understanding its interactions with the p-adic world, non-archimedean geometry and tropical scheme theory.
Lately I have also started working in the mathematical foundations of machine learning, in particular in those problems where tropical geometry and algebra can be valuable tools, like the study of the neuroalgebraic geometry of ReLU neural networks.
From September 2023 to August 2025 I have been a postdoctoral researcher at KTH in Stockholm, under the supervision of Kathlén Kohn. Prior to that, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Max-Plank Institut for Mathematics in the Sciences in the Nonlinear algebra groups lead by Bernd Sturmfels.
I was awarded my PhD in Mathematics in June 2022. I was part of a joint doctoral program between Swansea University and Université Grenoble Alpes under the supervision of Jeffrey H. Giansiracusa and Andrea Pulita. My thesis is entitled "A general framework for tropical differential equations". It can be found here.
The common theme in my research is to explore the foundations of new areas of pure mathematics, with a view towards applications.
