Eating is very important. Drinking also. Here is a list (with a map) of good restaurants/bars that I recommend.
Most, but not all of them, are in (or close to) the 14th Arrondissement in Paris, which is where I live. The red stars (*) indicate my absolute favorites. I do my best to keep the list updated.

Apollon, Traiteur Grec, 64 rue Raymond Losserand (14th) -- Greek take away.
Aux Brochettes, 82 Rue du Moulin Vert (14th) -- Cous cous restaurant. Very quiet place in a very quiet street.
Banak Cuisine du Tibet, 3 rue Pierre Larusse (14th) -- Cute Tibetan restaurant.
*Café du Château chez César et Paulo, 143 Rue du Château (14th) -- drink a beer on a sunny day and chat with Cesar.
Café Cayo, 9 Rue du Chevaleret (13th) -- Excellent food and excellent coffee.
*Chez Farhat, 8/10 rue Raymond Losserand (14th) -- Libanese restaurant run by the friendly Farhat.
*Daraton, 22 rue Edouard Jacques (14th) -- Cretan restaurant managed by Panayiota. She cooks, serves all tables, and chats with customers. all at the same time. Very small and cozy place. Very good homemade (slow-)food.
Dokkebi, 121 rue Raymond Losserand (14th) -- Korean restaurant.
*Fratelli Castellano, 43 Rue Fondary (15th) -- Pizza!
Girotti, 120 boulevard Raspail (6th) -- Good icecream.
Ha Noi quan, 46 rue Raymond Losserand (14th) -- Tiny little vietnamese restaurant.
Hkook, 12 rue Jonquoi (14th) -- Cute (and very well hidden) Korean restaurant.
*Hexagone Cafe, 121 rue du Chateau (14th) -- Great coffee, some cakes or biscuits, or a juice. And nothing else. Served by Chung-Leng, who also wrote a great book about coffe (on sale in the shop).
Ippin Ramen, 6 rue Pernety (14th) -- Ramen. Cheap and good.
*Kimura, 38 rue Pernety (14th) -- sushi restaurant, Run by a welcoming couple. The place is quite small, so better reserve. And don't go too late, or there will be no rice left and you'll have only sashimi as an option. In the evening, try the Obanzai, a selection of vegetables and sea vegetables, while at lunchtime some warm dishes are also served.
La Belle Ronde, 19 rue Daguerre (14th) -- crêperie in a small courtyard off Rue Daguerre. If the weather is good you can eat outside.
La Cagouille, 10 place Constantin Brancusi (14th) -- fish restaurant.
La Cantine du Troquet, 101 rue de l'Ouest (14th) -- French restaurant.
La Crêperie de Josselin, 67 rue du Montparnasse (14th) -- Very popular crêperie, often packed with people. Long waiting time to get a table, but excellent crêpes. If the queue to get a table is too long, try Creperie Plougastel, a few meters away (47 rue du Montparnasse).
La Felicità, 5 Parvis Alain Turing (13th) -- Italian food court.
La Folie en Tête, 33 rue de la Butte aux Cailles (13th) -- Bar. The name is an hommage to the Paris commune. "...Les belles auront la folie en tête...".
La Roue Libre, 80 Boulevard Richard Lenoir (11th) -- Very friendly bar/restaurant, with live music (chanson française).
Le Merle Moqueur, 11 rue de la Butte aux Cailles (13th) -- Bar. The name is an hommage to the Paris commune. "...et gai rossignol, et merle moqueur...".
Le Moulin à café, 8 rue Sainte Léonie (14th) -- Bar and restaurant managed by a neighborhood association.
*L'Envie, 57 rue Pernety (14th) -- French/European restaurant, run very friendly by Bibi.
Le Petit Plaisir, 15 rue des Suisses (14th) -- Nice bistrot.
Les Cailloux, 58 Rue des cinq Diamants (13th) -- Italian restaurant.
Les Tontons, 38 rue Raymond Losserand (14th) -- French restaurant specialized in tartares.
Le Temps des Cerises, 18-20 Rue de la Butte aux Cailles (13th) -- Restaurant run by a workers cooperative. The name is an hommage to the Paris commune. "Quand nous chanterons le temps des cerises...".
Mikopüy, 3 rue des Plantes (14th) -- Venezuelan street food (empanadas).
N & C, 67 rue Didot (14th) -- Bar serving the cheapest pint in the area.
*Toritcho, 47 rue du Montparnasse (14th) -- Sushi restaurant.
Yum, 57 rue de Gergovie (14th) -- Chinese restaurant
