Stefano Sicilia

Hi! I am a Post-doctoral researcher at UMONS and I have recently concluded my PhD in mathematics at GSSI, under the supervision of Professor Nicola Guglielmi. My research interests include numerical linear algebra, numerical methods for ODEs, matrix nearness problems and matrix factorizations. 

I am currently working on the project "Beyond Low-Rank Factorizations" (eLinoR) in the team of Professor Nicolas Gillis, where I am  studying a new type of non-linear matrix decomposition.  During my PhD my work focused on eigenvalue optimization for structured matrix nearness problems and their low rank properties.
