I am an applied microeconomist working at the intersection of environmental, education, and health economics. My research examines how environmental conditions affect human capital, health, and productivity. I am interested in how individuals and real estate markets respond to environmental and climate risks, and how these responses are reflected in economic outcomes. I use field and laboratory experiments, quasi-experimental research designs, and administrative data to identify causal effects. My long-term research agenda focuses on the economic value and distributional consequences of adaptation to air pollution and heat exposure, with buildings as an important mechanism linking environmental exposure to health, human capital, and economic value.

I hold a joint PhD from Maastricht University's School of Business and Economics and Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, reflecting my commitment to integrating perspectives across disciplines. 

Next to my research, I am a passionate teacher. I taught several courses in finance, economics and biomedical sciences on Bachelor and Master level, as well as coordinated courses in real estate economics, finance and sustainable healthcare. As a commitment to improving my teaching skills, I have successfully acquired the Dutch University Teacher Qualification (Basiskwalificatie Onderwijs, BKO).
