I am a postdoctoral researcher at Maastricht University specializing in interdisciplinary research at the nexus of environmental health, air pollution, and economics. My work bridges these fields to generate evidence on how environmental exposures affect human health and economic outcomes. By combining advanced econometric methods with laboratory and field experiments and large-scale real estate and health data, I quantify the societal and health impacts of air pollution and translate complex environmental challenges into actionable insights for policy and practice.

I hold a joint PhD from Maastricht University's School of Business and Economics and Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, reflecting my commitment to integrating perspectives across disciplines. My academic background combines expertise in economics, finance, occupational health and human physiology, providing a unique foundation for research that connects economic behavior, environmental risk, and public health.

Before entering academia, I worked as a consultant in the financial sector in Germany and Luxembourg, where I developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills that continue to inform my research and extend its practical relevance. My interdisciplinary training and professional experience enable me to bridge traditionally separate fields and address complex societal challenges at the intersection of health, environment, and economics.

Next to my research, I am a passionate teacher. I taught several courses in finance, economics and biomedical sciences on Bachelor and Master level, as well as co-coordinated courses in real estate economics, finance and sustainable healthcare. As a committment to improving my teaching skills, I have successfully acquired the Dutch University Teacher Qualification (Basiskwalificatie Onderwijs, BKO).
