Since 2003, UI Math Club with the help of the Department of Mathematics has been organizing the annual “PI DAY” celebration. This has been a University wide event, with great success and attendance not only from the people from the UI community, but also from high school students from around the area. Delicious pies, a very competitive Integration Bee contest (with attractive prizes for the top 3/4 winners), personalized contributions to the chain digits of Pi, and fun stories related to the number Pi, all make the last Thursday before the Spring break (March 14th usually occurs during Spring break), a wonderful and fun activity.
