If you want a lighter-feeling, longer-running headset with simultaneous game and phone audio, choose SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7; if you need active noise cancellation, larger drivers, and a transmitter system for switching among sources, choose Turtle Beach Stealth Pro. For construction work, neither is a substitute for purpose-built protective hearing equipment, but their different designs still point to different priorities.
SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 vs Turtle Beach Stealth Pro at a Glance
• Turtle Beach Stealth Pro: Adjustable active noise cancellation, 60mm dual drivers, and a transmitter system designed to switch among sources are its biggest draws. Its listed battery life is 40 hours, and its listed weight is higher.
• Choose SteelSeries if battery life, a portable USB-C wireless dongle, and combining game and mobile audio are priorities.
• Choose Turtle Beach if noise reduction, high-resolution audio support, and flexible source switching matter more.
• Both are over-ear wireless headsets, so neither is an open-ear or ear-clip design.
The Arctis Nova 7 is the more straightforward fit for someone who wants a wireless gaming headset that can also take in phone audio. It supports a 2.4GHz wireless connection and Bluetooth at the same time, so game sound and mobile audio can be mixed rather than forcing you to choose one source. That can be useful when you want to hear a call or other phone audio alongside a game.
Its listed battery life is 54 hours, compared with 40 hours for the Turtle Beach. SteelSeries also specifies USB-C fast charging, though the sheet does not say how much listening time a brief charge provides. The portable USB-C dongle provides 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, and a USB-A adapter is included. That gives buyers more than one way to connect the dongle to compatible devices, including the listed PC, PlayStation, Switch, and mobile platforms.
Sound control is another part of the Nova 7’s appeal. Its app offers more than 200 game-specific audio presets, and the headset supports 360-degree spatial audio. The ClearCast Gen 2 microphone is described as reducing background noise by up to 25 dB, with additional Sonar AI enhancement on PC. That combination is relevant if you want to adjust game audio and communicate clearly without treating this as a dedicated work headset.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.

Who should skip it: Skip the Nova 7 if adjustable active noise cancellation and the Turtle Beach transmitter’s multi-source switching are the features you care about most.
The Stealth Pro is aimed at a buyer who wants more control over the listening environment and a more elaborate wireless setup. Its adjustable active noise cancellation is a central distinction from the Nova 7’s advertised feature set. That can make the Turtle Beach more relevant for a noisy room or a gaming setup where reducing surrounding distractions matters. ANC does not turn it into hearing protection, though, and it should not be treated as a safety solution for construction work.
Its 60mm Eclipse dual drivers are described as having dedicated woofers and tweeters. The product information also calls out 24-bit/96kHz wireless high-resolution audio over a compatible 2.4GHz USB connection, with high-resolution support in wired USB mode as well. Those details will matter most to listeners who care about audio format and compatibility. They do not guarantee a particular sound preference, and high-resolution support depends on compatible devices and sources.
For connections, Turtle Beach lists Bluetooth, wired connectivity, and a USB wireless transmitter. Its CrossPlay 2.0 transmitter system is designed to switch among up to four sources at the touch of a button. The package description includes one transmitter dock and one transmitter; additional transmitters are sold separately. This may suit someone who regularly moves between devices, but the four-source capability depends on the transmitter setup rather than simply being a claim that every source connects at once.
The Stealth Pro’s listed battery life is 40 hours, and its listed weight is 13.92 ounces. That is a shorter listed runtime and a higher listed weight than the Nova 7, two practical trade-offs for a buyer comparing long sessions and headset heft. Its aluminum, steel, mesh-cloth, polycarbonate, and silicone materials describe a multi-material build, but the product sheet does not establish long-term durability in demanding work conditions.
Who should skip it: Skip the Stealth Pro if your main priorities are the longer listed battery life and lower listed weight of the Nova 7, or if you do not need adjustable ANC or multi-source switching.
• Longer listed battery life → SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7. Its battery life is listed as 54 hours; the Stealth Pro is listed at 40 hours.
• Lower listed weight → SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7. It is listed at 11.52 ounces, compared with 13.92 ounces for Turtle Beach.
• Mixing game and mobile audio → SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7. The sheet explicitly supports simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth audio.
• Adjustable active noise cancellation → Turtle Beach Stealth Pro. Its product information specifically describes adjustable ANC.
• Switching among multiple sources → Turtle Beach Stealth Pro. CrossPlay 2.0 is designed to switch among up to four sources, with the transmitter setup.
• A portable USB-C gaming dongle and included USB-A adapter → SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7. That connection arrangement is part of its listed package.
• Large drivers and high-resolution audio support → Turtle Beach Stealth Pro. It lists 60mm dual drivers and compatible-source high-resolution support over USB wireless and wired USB.
• Microphone noise-rejection details → SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7. Its ClearCast Gen 2 microphone is specified as reducing background noise by up to 25 dB, with Sonar AI enhancement on PC.
For construction work, start with safety rather than gaming features. These are over-ear wireless gaming headsets, not sports earbuds for construction work, ear clip headphones for construction work, or volume limiting open ear earbuds for construction work. Their listed features do not establish hearing-protection certification or safe exposure limits. If you need hearing protection on a job site, use equipment intended and approved for that purpose, and follow your workplace’s safety requirements.
Think about what “noise control” means for your situation. The Stealth Pro specifically describes adjustable active noise cancellation, while the Nova 7’s microphone noise rejection is intended to reduce background sound picked up during voice transmission. Those are different functions: microphone noise rejection is about what others hear from your mic, not necessarily about blocking sound reaching your ears. Neither should be mistaken for protection from hazardous noise.
Connection needs deserve a close look, too. The Nova 7 has a compact USB-C wireless dongle and a USB-A adapter, plus simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4GHz audio. Turtle Beach offers Bluetooth, wired connection, and a transmitter-based system for switching sources. Its stated four-source switching depends on the CrossPlay setup, and extra transmitters are sold separately. If you only use one gaming device and a phone, SteelSeries’ simultaneous audio may be the more relevant detail. If you move among several compatible sources, Turtle Beach’s switching approach may be more useful.
My Verdict
I would choose the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 for the longer listed battery life, lower listed weight, and ability to mix 2.4GHz and Bluetooth audio. For construction work, I would not rely on either gaming headset as hearing protection; I would use appropriate safety equipment first. If gaming in a noisy indoor setting is the priority and adjustable ANC plus multi-source switching matter more, I would choose the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro instead.
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 is listed at 54 hours, while the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro is listed at 40 hours. These are the product-sheet figures; actual battery life can depend on use and settings.
The Stealth Pro specifically lists adjustable active noise cancellation. The Nova 7’s product information describes noise rejection for its microphone, which is a different feature and does not mean the headset blocks surrounding sound in the same way.
Neither is identified as protective hearing equipment, so I would not use either as a substitute for hearing protection on a job site. The Stealth Pro lists adjustable ANC, but that is not a safety rating or a guarantee of protection against hazardous noise.
The sheets do not establish which one offers better value for a particular buyer. Compare the features you will use—such as battery life, ANC, source switching, and simultaneous audio—and check the current price on Amazon before deciding.
