What SteelCargo Does

SteelCargo is a simple, local-first organizer that helps you group items into vaults and track details using flexible, custom fields. It’s designed to stay fast, private, and easy to use—no account required.

Vaults & Items: Create multiple vaults (collections), then add items inside each vault to keep everything neatly grouped. Rename, browse, and manage your vaults anytime.
Custom Fields (Flexible Tracking): Add your own fields per item to match how you think. Supported field types include:

Text / Number + Unit / Points (emoji) / Date / Menu (pick from options).

This makes it easy to track specs, conditions, ratings, purchase details, dates, or any personal notes.
Fast Search: Quickly search across vault names and item names to find what you need without digging through lists.
Templates (Save Time): Reuse a field setup by copying the field structure from another item. Great when many items share the same format. (Values reset, so you start clean.)
Stats (Quick Summaries): See simple summaries depending on field type—such as total, average, unfilled counts, and date ranges—to understand your data at a glance.
Photos (Optional): Attach a photo to a vault or an item for quick visual recognition. Photos are optional—SteelCargo works great with just names and fields.
Duplicate Vaults: Duplicate a vault quickly when you want to reuse a structure or create a similar collection.
Backup Export: Export a vault as a backup file and share/save it using the iOS Share Sheet.
Backup Import: Import a previously exported backup file to restore a vault into the app. Imported vault names are adjusted automatically to avoid duplicates.
Delete (Local Only): Delete vaults and items anytime. All data management is local to your device.

Backup Notes

SteelCargo uses iOS system tools for backup so you stay in control of where your file goes.

Export: Backups can be saved or shared using iOS features such as Files, AirDrop, iCloud Drive, email, messaging apps, and more (depending on what you choose).
Import: Restoring requires selecting a backup file from the Files picker.
Your Control: You decide where backups are stored (On My iPhone, iCloud Drive, external providers, etc.).

Data & Privacy (Local-First)

On-device storage: Your vaults, items, and optional photos are stored on your device.
No account needed: You can use SteelCargo without signing up.
