If you are eyeing science and technology careers in the future, STEM might be the best strand for you. The STEM strand is designed to provide students with the fundamental concepts related to engineering, science, and math. Under this strand, you will encounter interesting topics such as Biology, Physics, Calculus, and Chemistry which you will also find useful when you take STEM-related courses in college.
The STEC Senior High School STEM curriculum integrates the proper utilization of technology in specific subject areas to make learning engaging and interesting.
Specialization subjects for STEM strand include Pre-Calculus, Basic Calculus, General Chemistry 1 and 2, General Physics 1 and 2, and General Biology 1 and 2, Work Immersion/Research/Career Advocacy/Culminating Activity. The focus of the curriculum is to provide practical learning experiences in order for students to understand the concepts better through application, controlled experiments, research and practice.
We are integrating pre-college elective subjects based on their specialization like Primary Health Care, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Engineering Mathematics, Database Management System, etc. in order for the students to learn basic advance knowledge, which will prepare them for tertiary education.
The STEM strand will equip the students with knowledge and skills necessary in the pursuit of degree programs in engineering, architecture, medical/ health sciences, and computer studies.
