Q. How much does it cost?
A. Option A: $100/child (for 4 practices)
Option B: $100/child (for 4 practices)
Q. What does my Shorty need to bring for practice?
A. Water Bottle, Individual Snack (for after), Size 3 Soccer Ball
Shin guards and cleats are optional*
Q. What are the goals of the program?
A. We will learn the fundamentals of the game.
We will have fun and keep the practices engaging.
We will encourage all kids to touch and move the ball with their feet as much as possible.
We will Enjoy the game of soccer! Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. Kids learn by doing-making it fun is how they learn.
Our hope is that each kid leaves at the end of the summer with a love for the game and enjoying what is most likely his or her first exposure to teamwork and team play.
Q. What skills will my Shorty learn this summer?
A. At this age, we want your Shorty to become familiar with the ball at their feet and we learn through imaginative games. Each game will focus on one of the following:
Dribbling the ball
Varied speed with and without ball
Trapping (stopping) the ball
Shooting
Juggling
Changing direction with the ball
Receiving the ball
Q. Where are the practices held?
A. All practices will be held at Soda Creek Elementary School
Address: 220 Park Avenue, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487
Q. Do you have a weather policy?
A. Yes. We cancel practices if lighting is less than 10 miles away from our current location or if the city closes all fields due to the fields being oversaturated with moisture. But we do play in the rain! It's the BEST! If we do cancel, we will offer a make-up session or allow you to come on a different day. We will notify you via text and email.
Q. Why $100 for 4 practices?
A. We believe that coaching in small groups is one of the best practices for learning and development. All coaches are trained and paid to work with this age group and your funds go to support the coaches and pay for field and equipment fees. Thanks for supporting us!
