Umpqua Valley STEAM Hub

Learning Resources for Educators

The Umpqua Valley STEAM Hub is a part of the Douglas County Partners for Student Success. "Engaging students early in STEAM-related classroom activities and out-of-school workshops" is one of the major goals of the initiative. The following lessons were created by local educators and best attempts were made to align the activities with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

The Lending Library Lessons involve materials that are available for checkout from the STEAM Hub's lending library at http://www.dcpss.org/steam/steam-resources/

Distance Learning Lessons include an overview with a list of low cost materials. Each grade level contains the overview and five accompanying lessons. These activities can also easily applied in the classroom. The lessons cover many of the NGSS standards but not all for that specific grade level.

5 Classroom Lessons with an overview outlining all the materials and resources needed to implement all five.
