STEAM in the News
This was an episode that aired on NJTV Learning Live, Thursday 5/28/20 at noon. This episode is based on learning about Combined Sewer Overflow and how communities with this type of system can implement new behaviors to prevent seasonal flooding in their area during the warmer months.
The lesson is based on a "Rainy Day Checklist" of ideas that people can do in their areas to reduce flooding when it rains. Based on this concept students can design solutions to many of the issues addressed in this video, and learn more about keeping their waterways clean.
