26 students from Redlands Unified School District represented RUSD at the 2023 San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono Counties Science & Engineering Fair. Gold Medal winners in the Junior Division Division were Jayden Liu from Cope Middle school and Natalie Jones from Moore Middle school. Gold medal winner in Senior Division were Amanda Liu from Redlands High school, Deacon Carreon and Michael Dahlgren from Redlands East valley high school.
2023 NCWIT-Aspirations in Computing Award
Shriya Narayanan, Senior at Redlnds High school and Nikita Jos, a junior at Redlands High School, were honored for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, and academic performance. Additionally, Deepika Srivastava, STEAM & Innovation Coordinator received the Educator of the Year award.
2023 Rube Goldberg Competition
In February 2023, Orangewood High school won the second place in the senior division at the SanBernardino County Rube Goldberg Competition. They also won the Creative Spark Award.

Mission 16 Student Spaceflight Experiment Program
Research project “The Effect of Microgravity on Weevils (Sitophilus oryzae) found in Rice” proposed by Cadet Major Krstenasky, Cadet Caption Nunez, Cadet First lieutenant Daguerresar, and Cadet Sergent Martinez under the guidance of Teacher Ionne Barnes-Joshua and Mr.Paul DeVoe from Redlands High School has been selected for the Mission 16 to International Space Station that is scheduled for launch on November 18. 2022.

Patches created by RUSD students Hailey Collinsworth, and Mia Caliva, under the guidance of Teacher Advisor-Amanda Betts. from Citrus Valley High School have been selected to fly to the International Space Station on November 18. 2022.

2022 Skills USA Competition
12 engineering and computer science students from Citrus Valley High School competed in the Ca State Skills USA competition. Ethan Tao won the first place in the carbon dioxide dragster Category, Blake Benfield won the Second Place in computer Programming competition and Nicholas Moreno won the Third Place in the carbon dioxide dragster Category.

2021 Congressional App Challenge
Varun Srivastava, Shriyaa Narayanan, Abhisri Narayanan, and Dexter Xu from Redlands High School created the WeConnect App, which allows high school students to engage with each other over specific school-related topics, addressing address students’ social and emotional needs, mental well being, all while mitigating learning loss.

Varun Srivastava, a freshman at Redlands High School, created a simulation based on San Bernardino County's COVID-19 data that illustrated the impact of stay-at-home measures for preventing infections and deaths.

William Porayouw, Richa Jos, Diya Theodore, and Sanjana Fernando from Redlands High School created the Eudemonia app, which makes mental health check-in’s accessible and personalized.

2019 Rube Goldberg Award
Franklin Elementary School students won second place at the Inland Empire RUBE GOLDBERG competition organized by the San Bernardino County. The event allowed students to collaborate as a team to create a complex machine designed to achieve a simple task. This year's competition was called, "Put Money In A Pig."
2019 Congressional App Challenge
Varun Srivastava, a freshman at Redlands High School, created the We Will app, which taught users about simple ways to reduce their carbon footprint and could calculate and track the user's carbon emissions based on entered data.

William Porayouw, a sophomore at Redlands High School, constructed novel core shell nanostructures that utilized titania and copper in order to optimize photocatalytic efficiency.
