York Preparatory School
Program overview
Have you ever wondered how we built the Brooklyn Bridge, sent a human to the moon, or how your Bluetooth speaker connects to your phone? Our STEAM courses demonstrate how even the biggest challenges of our time can be tackled with the process of design thinking. In class, we embark on an introduction to the design process through hands-on projects performed individually and in teams. Examples of projects in our Fabrication & Assembly series include: design your own city, truss bridge construction, and 3D printing. Our Mechatronics students engage in all things mechanics + electronics, including: basic circuits and soldering, moving robots, and introductory coding. Learn how to identify a problem, and solve it!
