Enoch chanting the Pascal Hymn
At the heart of our worship is the ancient tradition of sacred chant, offered to the glory of the Most Holy Trinity. We sing the services according to the Eight Tones (Octoechos) of the Church, that timeless cycle which unites our voices with the heavenly choir and the worship of the saints throughout the ages.
In the spirit of the Russian Orthodox tradition, we also draw upon the profound and soul-stirring melodies of Znamenny chant—the znamenny rasppev with its distinctive hooks (kryuki) and flowing, prayerful character that has nourished the Russian Church from the time of Holy Kievan Rus’.
And in this corner of God’s creation in northwest Georgia, we humbly incorporate a touch of local Appalachian musicality—simple, heartfelt, and rooted in the soil of our region—offered as a small offering of the people of this land to the Lord, always submitted to the mind of the Church and the purity of Orthodox tradition.
Whether in the solemn tones of the Resurrectional services, the ancient znamenny melodies, or the quiet beauty of our local chant, all our singing is offered with one purpose: that our prayer might rise as incense before the throne of God, uniting earth with heaven, and drawing our souls into deeper communion with Christ our Savior.
Come and sing with us. Come and pray.
