An Invitation to All Teachers
Our district, NYSED, and the Syracuse Teacher Center believe that effective professional learning must be ongoing, deeply embedded in teachers’ classroom work with students, specific to grade levels or academic content, and focused on research-based instructional strategies. Teachers must identify their own areas of growth around content, pedagogy, and student assessment, to personalize professional learning that will lead to increased educator effectiveness.
The Syracuse Teacher Center is honored to invite you to take part in our Seventh Annual Competitive Action Research Program. Teachers across the district are invited to submit proposals to formally focus their action research on their personalized identified area(s) for professional growth as it relates to the work they do in their classrooms each and every day.
Please take the time to review the entire Action Research Program packet materials and do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions you may have. Before the actual submission dates, the Teacher Center will be holding two informational sessions for those that may be interested in participating in this exciting new inquiry-based program.
Conducting an Action Research project will provide you with a high sense of satisfaction and professional accomplishment. I am looking forward to supporting you through this Action Research process.
