Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Stay Zone ("the app") handles your information. Stay Zone is designed with privacy as a core principle — your files stay on your device and are never transmitted to any external server.

Stay Zone does not collect personal data. The following information is stored locally on your device only:

1. Files you import

   - Any file you add via the + button, share sheet, camera, or photo library is saved to a private shared container on your device. These files are never uploaded or transmitted anywhere.

2. App preferences

   - Settings such as retention time, dark mode preference, accent colour, and tap behaviour are saved locally using UserDefaults. These are not shared with anyone.

3. File metadata

   - File name, size, format, date added, and expiry date are stored locally to manage your files. This data never leaves your device.

4. Thumbnails

   - Preview thumbnails are generated locally and stored in a private cache folder on your device. They are deleted when the associated file is deleted.

All data stays on your device and is used solely to:

- Display your files and their expiry timers

- Automatically delete files when their timer expires

- Restore your preferences between sessions

*No data is analysed, profiled, or used for any other purpose.

We do not share any data with third parties. Stay Zone contains no analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash reporting tools, or any other third-party frameworks that collect or transmit data.

Stay Zone is built around automatic deletion:

- Every file has an expiry timer set by you (30 minutes to 12 hours).

- When a file expires, Stay Zone deletes it from your device automatically — including its thumbnail — even when the app is running in the background.

- You can also delete files manually at any time.

- Deleting the app removes all files and preferences stored by Stay Zone from your device

Stay Zone requests the following permissions only when you choose to use those features:

- Camera: Used only when you choose to import a file by taking a photo or video. Stay Zone does not access the camera at any other time.

- Photo Library: Used only when you choose to import photos or videos from your library. Stay Zone does not scan or access your photo library in the background.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security.

Since Stay Zone stores all data locally on your device and collects no personal information, there is no data held by us to access, correct, or delete. You are in full control of your data at all times. You can delete any file within the app or remove all data by uninstalling the app.

If this policy changes in a future update, the updated policy will be included with the app update and the "Last Updated" date above will reflect the change.
