StatusHD (package dev.lufias.hdwastatus)
Effective 16 September 2026
Developer: Lufias — volatilecreativemy@gmail.com
StatusHD converts videos on your device so they stay sharp when posted to
WhatsApp Status. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with
your data.
WHAT THE APP DOES WITH YOUR VIDEOS
All video processing happens entirely on your device. Your videos are never
uploaded to us or to any server. When you pick a video, the app makes a private
copy inside its own storage so processing can continue in the background; that
copy is deleted when you delete the entry in the app. Finished videos are saved
to your gallery in the "StatusHD" folder, which you control.
DATA WE COLLECT
We do not operate any server and do not collect personal information ourselves.
The app has no account system.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Google AdMob (free tier only). To show ads, Google may collect device
identifiers (such as the Advertising ID), approximate location derived from IP
address, and ad interaction data, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy at
https://policies.google.com/privacy. In regions where consent is required, you
will be asked before any ad is shown, and you can change your choice at any time
from the menu inside the app, under Privacy options. Pro users see no ads and
the advertising SDK is not initialised.
Firebase Crashlytics (Google). Three different things are sent to Google on
our behalf so that faults can be found and fixed.
First, when an export fails, we send a report about that failure. It contains
the device model, Android version, app version, a stack trace, and technical
facts about the export: the stage it failed at, the quality preset, the video
codec, the frame rate, the duration in seconds and the pixel dimensions of the
input and output.
Second, if the app crashes outright, Crashlytics sends a report about the crash:
the device model, Android version, app version and a stack trace.
Third, Crashlytics opens a session each time you use the app, which sends app
and device information whether or not anything has gone wrong.
Crashlytics uses installation and session identifiers to associate these reports
and sessions with an installation of the app. They are not your name or your
account, and they are replaced if you reinstall the app.
The reports we build ourselves, for failed exports, describe a video only by its
dimensions, codec and duration. They never contain the video, a frame of it, its
file name, or where it sits in your gallery.
If the app crashes outright, the report is assembled by Crashlytics rather than
by us, and it carries whatever text the failure produced. We do not put file
names or locations there on purpose, but we cannot promise such text never
appears in a crash we did not anticipate.
Crash reporting is switched off entirely in development builds. See
https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy for how Google handles this data.
Google Play Billing. Purchases are handled by Google Play. We receive a purchase
token to unlock Pro features; we do not receive your payment details.
Google Play In-App Review. The app may ask you to rate it via Google Play's
standard review dialog.
PERMISSIONS
Photos and videos — only to read the videos you explicitly select. The app uses
the system photo picker where available, which grants access to the chosen files
only.
Notifications — to tell you when a video has finished processing.
Internet — used only by the advertising, billing and crash reporting services
above. Video processing itself never uses the network.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Crash reports are held by Google on our behalf, and Firebase keeps them for a
limited period before deleting them; uninstalling the app stops any further
reports but does not erase ones already sent. Everything else stays on your
device.
Job history and private video copies are stored on your device only. Delete them
from within the app, using Clear finished in the menu or by deleting an
individual entry, or by uninstalling the app, which removes all app data.
CHILDREN
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect
information from them.
CHANGES
We will update this page if the policy changes. Continued use after a change
means you accept the updated policy.
