Moreover the Company developed two projects for HORIZON 2020.
1) STEP-A (Information System to Train Executive Functions for Preventing Addictions in Young Adults). Two are the primary objectives of the proposal to provide primary prevention and population-oriented early intervention strategies in the field of addictions (drug, alcohol and gambling). A) Creating an innovative online IT-system based on new game-tests and aimed to train and enhance higher-level cognitive abilities (executive functions) entailed in responsible behaviours. B) Building a questionnaire aimed to gather data on socio-demographic characteristics, mental health conditions and behavioural habits in the addiction areas, in order to assess the IT-system ability to facilitate behavioural changes during and beyond the lifetime of the project.
2) DiADe (Prevent Distress Anxiety Depression). A new intervention paradigm based on 'artificial intelligence'-supported cognitive-behavioral therapy to prevent distress, anxiety and depression (DiADe) in the workplace. This proposal is based on the integration of primary and secondary prevention packages operated by humans with the support of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create an innovative intervention paradigm in the workplace both at organizational and individual level. The project will focus on Distress, Anxiety and Depression (“DiADe”). Proactive AI systems (Conversational and Embodied Agents - AI boxes, chatbots and robots) will be designed, developed and validated to early detect in the work environment specific predictors of the targeted mental conditions (DiADe) and to reduce their occurrence by taking specific actions. The AI systems will be used also in secondary prevention protocols, both as decision support system for the clinicians to detect high-risk employees and as active agents of behavioural and cognitive change in those detected high-risk employees (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based chatbots). Psychometric gold standard measures and the screening of specific biomarkers correlated with DiADe will be adopted to evaluate the effectiveness of the methodology on employees’ mental health.
