Blooming Chihuly Chandelier is a collaborative project created by 90 students throughout 4 classes. The entire chandelier is made of recycled water bottles, thus creating Recycled Art. The lesson was connected to the students ELA lesson on the story, Ada’s Violin and how a village turned garbage into music. Our village turned trash into art. The students attached the bottles onto a 3 ft high chicken coop using zip ties. The final step was wrapping lights around the chandelier. The entire process, from start to finish, was approximately one month. The students were very proud of their collaborative art piece, The Blooming Chihuly.
