For even more options, don't forget to explore online accommodation platforms. You might find hotels, apartments, or vacation rentals located directly at the venue or in close proximity.
If you are not aware of how these websites work, a simplistic explanation is that the booking platforms "buy" rooms from the accommodation venues they have an arrangement with at a discounted rate which they then sell online at a profit. This is also why websites often have rooms available where the venue itself does not.
If the platform can't sell a room, it either on-sells the room(s) to another website or sells it back to the venue which is why a venue occasionally will suddenly have last second bookings available.
Notes:
Before you book on a accommodation platform, it is often worth checking with the accommodation venue first. If they do still have unsold rooms available they may be willing to price-match (or even better) the booking website price in order to avoid paying the booking platform's commission.
