OUR MISSION

 STARTING OVER ANIMAL RESCUE (“S.O.A.R”) believes in the value of all companion animals. As a progressive rescue and adoption organization, we adhere to the highest no-kill standards. We match rescued animals with their best possible fur-ever homes by investing in their health, rehabilitation, socialization, and well-being. Volunteer foster homes are needed to help our rescued, stray, and abandoned animals “S.O.A.R” toward a better life as a companion.

ABOUT

  STARTING OVER ANIMAL RESCUE is a group of VOLUNTEERS dedicated to the rescue, treatment, and placement of abused, stray, neglected, special needs and abandoned animals.

STARTING OVER ANIMAL RESCUE is a State of ALABAMA non-profit 501(c) 3 organization founded OCTOBER 22, 2022. “S.O.A.R” animals are currently placed with volunteer foster homes designed for their specific breed and species of animals. We make every effort to locate owners of stray animals and placing available animals for adoption on our Face book Page where the public can schedule a visit with them or contact us.  Using this model, the personality, habits, and health of animals are well known, enhancing the ability of “S.O.A.R” to place them in adoptive homes that are a "good match" and returning pets that were strays back to their owner.

“S.O.A.R” is concerned with companion animal overpopulation and works actively to reduce the number of unwanted stray animals. To end this, all animals are to be spayed and neutered. “S.O.A.R” wishes that no animal endure the pain and suffering of a life of abandonment and neglect. As human stewards of this earth, the volunteers of “S.O.A.R” work to support and preserve the animal’s precious life on this planet and strive to create a humane living environment for all animals.
