How can you help?
It takes a lot to keep our organization going and we would love to have your help! There are lots of ways you can help the STARR program continue to offer therapeutic horseback riding for children with special needs in Central Illinois. Our organization is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, 100% volunteer-run, and we happily accept your tax-deductible donations.
VOLUNTEER
We ALWAYS need volunteers.
Session Volunteers
For safety, we have three Session Volunteers per horse and we have two riders per class, plus extras to help around the arena.
Session Volunteers:
Must be 16 or older
Assist during riding sessions
Sessions run Spring & Fall

Maintenance Crew Volunteers are needed to groom horses, clean tack, maintain the barn, and help with special projects.
Maintenance Crew:
Must be 13 or older
Assist around the farm
Needed year round

SPONSOR
A $100 donation will sponsor a child for the entire riding season, or you can sponsor a horse to help with the cost of feed, bedding, and horse care.
DONATE
We are 100% staffed by volunteers, certified therapists, and instructors. Every dollar donated helps children with special needs. We love gift cards from Farm & Fleet or Rural King, are always in need of square bales of good quality grass hay, firewood, or monetary donations.
