Welcome to StarProtect.com, the official website of Shield Surety, LLC, DBA Star Protect™. By accessing this website or purchasing a Star Protect™ Windshield Repair Warranty, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Warranty Eligibility & Activation

Star Protect™ coverage begins on the date of purchase and remains active for two (2) years. Coverage is available only for brand new vehicles or Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles with fewer than 5,000 miles and no prior windshield damage at the time of warranty activation.

Warranties must be purchased through a participating dealership or directly through StarProtect.com. Upon purchase, customers will receive a QR-coded windshield tag, which must remain affixed to the inside of the vehicle's front windshield for coverage to remain valid.

Coverage applies only to the vehicle’s original factory-installed windshield. If the windshield is replaced during the coverage period, it must be replaced with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) glass. Use of aftermarket or non-OEM glass voids future coverage.

2. Scope of Coverage

The warranty includes unlimited rock chip repairs performed by Star/Superglass or an approved ROLAGS®-compliant repair provider.

All repairs are subject to inspection and approval under the Repair of Laminated Automotive Glass Standard (ROLAGS®). Star Protect™ reserves the right to deny any repair that exceeds ROLAGS® limitations, presents a safety risk, or compromises the structural integrity of the windshield.

3. Exclusions

Star Protect™ repairs are limited to chips and cracks that comply with ROLAGS® standards. This warranty does not cover:

- Vehicles that are used and not Certified Pre-Owned, or that have 5,000 miles or more at the time of activation
- Any windshield with existing damage, including prior repairs, cracks, or chips
- Damage longer than 6 inches, spider cracks, or overlapping break patterns
- More than two (2) repairs in the Primary Viewing Area (PVA), or any repair that exceeds 1 inch or violates minimum spacing
- Damage within 2 inches of the windshield edge, or near sensors or brackets
- Repairs to glass other than the laminated front windshield (e.g., rear, side, sunroof)
- Windshield replacements (this warranty covers repairs only)
- Vehicles that have undergone a windshield replacement using non-OEM glass
- Damage caused by commercial misuse, off-road activity, racing, or neglect
- Repairs attempted by unauthorized or non-certified technicians

All repairs must be performed or approved by Star/Superglass or a certified ROLAGS® provider. Star Protect™ reserves the right to deny any repair that may compromise safety or clarity.

4. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:
- Scanning their QR-coded windshield tag to access the appointment scheduler
- Initiating a repair request through the official scheduling portal
- Keeping their contact and vehicle information up to date
- Scheduling appointments through Star Protect™ to ensure proper validation and repair tracking

5. Approved Repair Providers

All repairs must be performed by:
- Star/Superglass, or
- A ROLAGS®-certified technician pre-approved by Star Protect™

Repairs completed by unauthorized or uncertified providers will void the warranty.

6. Limit of Liability

Shield Surety, LLC and Star Protect™ are not liable for:
- Delays in repair service
- Damage that worsens before inspection
- Optical distortion following an approved repair
- Windshield replacement costs
- Indirect or incidental damages caused by unrepairable conditions

7. Intellectual Property

All logos, trademarks, service names, and content on this website are the property of Shield Surety, LLC. Reuse or reproduction without express written permission is strictly prohibited.

8. Modifications

Star Protect™ reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page and take effect immediately upon publication.

10. Failed Repairs & Quality Guarantee

All rock chip repairs completed by Star/Superglass under the Shield Surety™ program are covered by our quality guarantee. In the event that a completed repair fails—such as the damage spreading or becoming visually distorted—customers are eligible for the following:

- Free Re-Repair: If feasible, the original damage will be re-assessed and repaired again at no additional cost.
- Replacement Credit: If the damage cannot be repaired or spreads beyond safe repair standards due to the failure of an original repair, Shield Surety™ will contribute up to $500 toward a full windshield replacement. The replacement must be performed by a licensed, reputable provider and accompanied by a paid invoice.

Limitations: This guarantee applies only to repairs completed by Star/Superglass or a certified ROLAGS® provider under the warranty terms. It does not apply to:
- New damage after the initial repair
- Repairs made to non-OEM or aftermarket glass
- Glass that was already structurally compromised
- Delays in reporting the damage that result in worsening conditions

All final decisions regarding failed repair coverage are made at the discretion of Shield Surety™, based on ROLAGS® standards and safety assessments.
