Jim Starling used to be a pretty big deal back in the 90s, having starred as the titular character in Darkwing Duck. It seemed he had been doing everything right in the acting world; always eager to film a new season, appearing at as many promotional events as he could, even performing all his own stunts under unsafe and unregulated conditions (and only sustaining a few life-altering injuries because of it)! But all good things come to an end, and Darkwing Duck couldn't last forever. The show was cancelled after three seasons due to poor ratings, and all things surrounding it faded into obscurity once it ended.
In the current day, now with his new name and status as a feared, chainsaw-wielding, maniacal villain, Negaduck is dead-set on making some nobody named Drake Mallard's life a living hell for not only stealing the last good thing Jim had to his name (his role as Darkwing Duck), but also taking it even further to the point of putting one of the actor's fans in danger so Drake could swoop in, save the day, and steal the glory of being a hero in order to humiliate Jim before ultimately causing his death in an explosion on the set of the failed Darkwing Duck reboot.
Negaduck won't stop at anything to reach his goal of making Drake suffer, even at his own expense.
