Welcome to Apes Paradise, an Oculus Quest VR experience. Your privacy is important to us. This policy outlines how we handle data to ensure a safe, fun, and compliant environment for all players.
To provide a functional multiplayer experience, we collect the following:
Meta Platform Data: We access your Oculus/Meta Username and Unique User ID (Oculus ID) via the Meta SDK. This is used solely to identify your account, maintain your save data, and manage leaderboards.
Payment Information: For in-app purchases (IAP), transactions are processed directly by the Meta Quest Store. We do not see or store your credit card details; we only receive confirmation of a successful purchase to grant your in-game items.
Technical & Analytics Data: We automatically collect hardware info (device type), IP addresses (for server regional routing), and performance metrics (FPS, crash logs) via PlayFab. This helps us optimize the game for your headset.
Location Data: We may identify your general City and State via your IP address to connect you to the nearest server. We do not collect precise GPS data.
Apes Paradise uses Photon Voice for real-time communication.
Recording: Your microphone audio is processed in real-time so other players can hear you.
Storage: We do not store, record, or sell your voice conversations. Audio data is transient and exists only for the duration of the transmission.
We partner with industry-standard providers to run our backend. These providers are "Data Processors" and are prohibited from using your data for their own marketing:
PlayFab (Microsoft): Handles player accounts, cloud saves, and analytics.
Photon (ExitGames): Manages multiplayer networking and voice chat.
In compliance with global standards (including GDPR and CCPA 2026 updates), you have the following rights:
Access & Portability: You may request a copy of the data we have associated with your Oculus ID.
The Right to Be Forgotten: You can request full deletion of your data at any time.

Note: Deleting your data will result in the permanent loss of in-game progress and purchased items, as these are tied to your ID.
We implement industry-standard encryption. However, no system is 100% secure. In the event of a suspected data breach, Apes Paradise will initiate Lockdown Mode, which may temporarily disable online features while we investigate and secure player data.
Apes Paradise follows Meta’s age-rating guidelines. We use Meta’s Age Category API where available to ensure younger players are placed in appropriate environments. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under the age of 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction) without parental consent via the Meta platform.
Your data may be processed on servers located in the United States or other regions where our service providers (PlayFab/Photon) operate. By playing, you consent to these cross-border transfers.
