GOLF CLUBS
Laurel Oaks Country Club: located less than 2 miles east of I-75 on Bee Ridge Rd. Laurel Oaks is a somewhat older country club community but it is well manicured with spacious yards. The club membership runs $6000 up front plus $764/month with a minimum annual dining & beverage charge. Laurel Oaks offers 3 membership tiers. www.laureloak.com/
Bent Tree's Woodlands offers estate homes with a country club membership that is optional. Bent Tree is a somewhat older community located on the south side of Bee Ridge directly across from Laurel Oaks. The Woodlands is the newer section of Bent Tree. Prestancia on Palmer Ranch has different levels of membership, with initiation fees running $4000 to $20,000 and membership fees running $8000 to $45,000. It also has monthly dues of $266 to $639 and has dining/beverage annual minimums. Prestancia has approximately 13 neighborhoods of homes, estate homes, townhomes, villas and condos.
Misty Creek Country Club is further out past Laurel Oaks on Bee Ridge Rd. Misty Creek has one golf course, 4 tennis courts and a smaller clubhouse. However, membership fees are $2000 with $1000 initiation (waived under certain programs) and $480/month in fees with annual minimum food and beverage of $900. Lakewood Ranch Country Club is optional for residents in most of the neighborhoods of Lakewood Ranch village. The 44,000 sq ft clubhouse has undergone renovations in the past few years and offers all of the expected amenities. They have a 14,000 sq ft fitness center, 18 lighted tennis courts, 2 pools, fine dining and 3 golf courses. University Park Country Club on University Parkway offers 31 neighborhoods, from villas to estate homes. Most were built in the 1990's to early 2000's. The clubhouse offers full amenities including fitness center, tennis and croquet courts and award winning 27 holes golf courses. Full membership runs $5000 but they also offer 5 other tiered memberships. There are annual fees based on membership level and minimum annual food & beverage requirements. Rosedale Golf and Country Club, located on SR70 just east of I75 (next door to Lakewood Ranch) does not require mandatory club membership in most of the neighborhoods of the community. Rosedale does have 5 levels of regular memberships as well as a special summer membership. www.rosedalegcc.com
River Strand at Heritage Harbour is a new development country club with an estate home section as well as classic homes, coach homes and condos. Heritage Harbour is just east if I75 at SR64 and is a master planned community. Both River Strand and Stoneybrook at Heritage Harbour are country club communities. Stoneybrook's annual country club dues run approximately $3270 with $500/year in minimum food & beverage. Stoneybrook has a clubhouse & golf course plus a fantastic recreation center with pools, fitness, tennis volleyball, in-line skating rink and other facilities. River Strand's annual country club dues run around $2437 per year or slightly higher, depending on neighborhood. They do have a master HOA and neighborhood HOA, which will run about $2100 per year but that does include lawn maintenance in most sections and cable tv. River Strand offers 3 golf courses with pro shop and facilities, 39,000 sq ft clubhouse with 2 pools, tennis courts, fine dining and fitness center.

Waterlefe Golf and River Club is NE of Heritage Harbour and offers not only a country club with golf but also boat access and docks. Waterlefe has multiple neighborhoods from condos to estate homes (which are gated within the gated community). The country club has an initiation fee of $10,000 but they have been waiving the initiation feee for new members recently.
